For Professionals Seeking Deeper Insight Into Injury Development

This course was built for clinicians and coaches who want to move past a surface level understanding of hamstring strain injury. You will work through how running mechanics contribute to injury, how to assess them, and how to bring running retraining into rehabilitation and return to running planning.

Skills That Translate Directly Into Better Clinical Understanding and Assessment

  • Evaluate hamstring strain injury grading and understand the mechanisms of injury, including how running mechanics contribute to injury, for precise, evidence based assessment.
  • Understand biomechanics and the role of hamstring function in injury presentation, dysfunction, movement patterns and recovery.
  • Integrate running biomechanical assessment and retraining into your practice, with the aim of supporting better clinical reasoning and outcomes.
  • Build confidence identifying movement patterns, and understanding running coordination, spatiotemporal, kinetic and kinematic features that assist in retraining running for injury reduction and rehabilitation.
  • Learn in a flexible format that combines online lectures, video analysis, webinars and practical resource tools.

Designed for Professionals Who Want More Than a Basic Knowledge of Hamstring Injury

This course is designed for:

  • Physiotherapists, osteopaths and chiropractors wanting to expand their understanding of running biomechanics assessment and integrate it into rehabilitation.
  • Rehabilitation professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of return to running planning and how to apply it in practice.
  • Performance professionals looking to apply evidence based assessments and interventions alongside their performance coaching.
  • Coaches aiming to better understand hamstring injury and the role of running mechanics in injury and movement dysfunction.
  • Final year physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic and sports science students wanting early exposure to hamstring strain injury and running mechanics assessment and rehabilitation methods.

Meet John Nicolosi, Performance Coach and Injury Educator

Qualifications and background: Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Master of Exercise Science, and a World Athletics certified sprint coach who has coached at two Olympic Games.

Approach: John focuses on how running biomechanics contribute to performance and injury in athletes who rely on speed. He connects anatomy, biomechanics and functional movement into a clear clinical framework.

Role at MAD: Director and Head of the MAD Track Team. John leads hamstring, running injury and performance courses and workshops, presents across Australia, and combines hands on clinical and coaching experience with teaching.
